Learning From Horse Racing Part 3

Horses even today are a sign of power and speed. Engines even today are rated on ‘Horse Power’ which is indicative that mankind has respected the animal which has been a sign of beauty, and at the same time, strength. People in organisations can also become the equivalent of the best steeds, stallions who are the breeding ground for future champions

Champion steeds require emotional bonding. Trainers will say how horses respond to their love during their morning feeding. Jockeys will name their most loved partner in crime who has responded to their urgings of ‘hands and feet’ without any physical whipping, while being powered to finish ahead of others by their war cries where man and beast have together won by their rhythm. Both have felt the other in the efforts and have therefore put in their best when asked to perform at the highest level.

Champions require feeding – best in class oats and grain. Energy boosting food, with the odd apply or carrot lovingly fed while caressing the ears and rubbing their nose. Humans need food too, but the food organisations can feed is the food of Gods. Motivation. Food that energises them and nourishes them to be at their best always

Champions require training – which is scheduled and planned. It could be a combination of morning workouts, sometimes on the sand track, sometimes on the race track, a mock race with others, swimming sessions to boost their stamina. some of these workouts would be to loosen up, some to be stretched. Some under a working riding boy while others under a skilled but non-racing jockey. All this under the close observation of feeding, diet, veterinary checks to observe any lameness, illness or signs of distress. Similarly people require to be constantly goaded by activity. Simulations, training, learning and development, case studies which prick their mental abilities and make them assess the situation and come out with solutions so that when the actual ‘race’ happens, they are ready with their best possible effort

Champions require to win. A high ranked stallion loves to race and importantly loves to win. They are bred for this. They want to win. They will find a way to do so. And when they win, one can see they way they bob their heads in glory, knowing fully well that they have won. They love the adulation and the cheers. They enjoy the limelight, wanting to go through they all over again and again. People similarly love the adulation. Everyone of us. Organisations must make them Win. Make them feel the joy of winning and support them in finding the rhythm of winning. Put the limelight on them and make sure all of them share the spotlight, individually and as a team

Champions breed champions. The Breeding industry thrives in the fact that they are able to constantly come up with that one breed by combining speed with stamina, power with beauty, ability with grace and this is also what organisations come up with. They in breed champions by pairing teams and making them learn and work together, innovate and research, solve problems as they involve with each other

I love going to the Horse Racing centres, love to read and see for myself the beauty in these Nobel beings who has been a friend of man from the time they have come to know each other. They are our true teachers and whose contribution will remain a part of the human destiny in our quest for the new future
